Reflecting on the Year, Part One

Is post number fifty a milestone? well then I’ve reached it. Gonna be honest I’m not sure what to write today? Staring at the blank computer screen and nothing real interesting is crossing my mind. As far as Christmas goes, it was a nice holiday but just seems to go whizzing by and before I know here we are on the 27th trying to sort out what to do for New Years.

It was a bit harder, of coarse, to keep up with my habits over the last few days, still managed a couple jogs, and short at home workouts. We spend to sit around reflecting and planning on the upcoming year, along with going through things that we no longer deem necessary as we continue to downsize. Our sons spend less time at home or visiting now during the holidays, as they age and move on forward with lives of their own, which is exciting to witness, but also sad at the same time as we, and I’m sure all you do, look back at Christmas’s past and the pictures of earlier times and the long hours spent together when my boys were much younger. What happened to all that time? Where did it go?

Those old pictures always bring a smile to our faces as we sit and enjoy what is now our Time, it is just sometimes we have a hard time figuring out how to fill that time. Weird for someone like me to say, when I know how important time is and to feel like I’m wasting some of it makes me a little anxious. But with the help I received this year via my therapist or the CBT coarse, I’m able to control those feeling a little better and not stress myself over thinking I have to fill every moment with something important because my life is supposed to be cut short.

Ok, well that’s about as deep as I want to go with this post as the year ends these next couple will be reflecting back on all that stuff that brought a smile to my face and like the pictures we look at to remind us of holidays past I’ll share with you some of my favourites pictures over the past year. I would be lying to you if I said I didn’t think I’d make it to 50 post, cause I knew I would. One, because I’m stubborn and determined to finish what I started and the other being I’m cheap and I paid for a full year.

Before signing off here and leaving you with some memories from over the year I’d, as always like to that those of you who take the time to follow along and read. Now that I have chosen to leave work, unknown if I’ll ever return, this blog gives me a sense of purpose and will continue to find something meaningful to post twice a week. This will be the start of something much bigger as life carries on…..enjoy life!

    1. Thanks Aunt Theresa, Wishing you all the best in 2022 as well. Funny, this message came through as I was giving Grandpa John a ride home after our small xmas dinner. Cheers.
