Late Summer Camp Vibes, Gotta Go

As I sit here packed ready for another adventure, boy where does the summer go? Late summer, early fall can be the best time to visit our parks as the rush is over and the backcountry in particular is empty. For eight days I will travel through the park using the Nipissing as the main route and venture off from there. It will bring me deeper into the interior and hopefully test my skills and force upon me that determination to never give up, something I believe my body craves and find myself restless when not testing the limits I can push myself to. When travelling solo there is no room for error and a sense of controlled aggression is needed, the last thing I need to do is hurt myself. I carry a satellite communication device just incase things go sideways, so when I say I’m by myself, help is only a button push away…in case anyone was worrying.

I have brought probably too much camera equipment, but for this trip in particular I want to try and document it as best I can. From my past travels I have plenty of footage and do plan on putting some of it together this fall and winter, however when I look back I tend to rush to much and forget to turn the camera on and capture those moments I want to share or even just relive myself. This is my passion and beside my family my greatest love, it hurts, it’s hard work and it keeps me grounded. Being at peace in and around nature, deep in the wilderness journalling the days thoughts and events is truly a reason why my Cancer hasn’t stolen anything from me!

So just a quick little post there, by the time you’re reading this I will be well into my trip. A month ago some friends and I took an epic trip to the wilds of Wabakimi, so I’ll leave you with some more pictures from that trip. This was the by far the most remote trip I’ve ever taken and while I didn’t get to see or encounter all the wildlife I was after, it was beautiful. Enjoy, Cheers Steve, Oh and subscribe, subscribe and subscribe, lol Thanks everyone.

Time is always slipping away. Love the beauty of fall, will miss the summer heat though
