My Second Home

Tomorrow will be a week since I broke the fast I decided to try, so I plan on giving anyone who’s interested an update on how I feel and what I’ve notice (if any) changes physically, mentally or even emotionally. I know I’m also well behind in my attempt to post everyday, but life takes over and visiting old friends and taking ten for yourself and along with a little recharge here we go again. I feel like putting today’s to a poem.

                                      My Tent

A reliable companion you've been for six years now
We've been through it all, the sun, gale force winds and the driving rain
Thrown, kicked, along with dragged through mud
Chewed and torn by red squirrels, the worst animal of all
Ambers have falling on you when set up to close a fire
I have patched you, cleaned you and prepped you every year
My guilty conscious gets the best of me when I look to upgrade
The sites we have seen, the joy and protection you have brung can't be fully described
Whether its keeping me warm on early season trip
Or taking the fly off to admire a mid summers sky
We've seen all four seasons and stood up to all of natures tests
Falling asleep to spectacular sunsets, awaken to dazzling scenes as the sun brings life to the day
My green and blue tent has saved me from things that go bump in the night
Been my fortress of solitude when time is needed away
A place to read, to write, about how the world felt today
Shelter from the outside and all the comforts I need to call home
You're shell and fabric are starting to wear thin, from the hundred of times setting up, taking down
Nevertheless my friend I won't give up on you if you don't give up on me

Gotta be grateful for your home away from home and the wonderful adventures you’ve experienced while staying warm and dry in its confines.

For sure and just the sheer simplicity that type of living provides.
